Axioo Pico - The Local Indonesian Wind Clone

There were so many MSI Wind clone all over the world such as Advant or Medion in Europe or US market, include here in Indonesia. Axioo one of local brand computer laptop also release their Wind clone for Indonesian Market. The name for the UMPC in Indonesia is Axioo Pico.

If the notebook specification and price given by the site is reliable , the price that axioo offered if we compare to the Wind is almost the same price offered, around IDR 5.800.000, but axioo offer us bigger HDD capacity, 160 GB but it lack bluetooth connection.I thought the price axioo offer would be less than MSI wind, my self prefer to choose the wind because it have built in bluetooth, because of that we can maximize all the available three USB ports for another devices, such USB Flash Disk, external HDD or USB mouse. Although MSI Wind only offer us 80 GB HDD space, I think the space big enough to install OS x86 on it .Except axioo cut their price less than Wind, maybe I can change my mind .

iCute QH02-4GA-WW

I bought this casing from www.bhinneka.com, it has unique design (maybe I miss the new casing technology), the power supply position is on the back of front panel. So, processor heat will never mix with power supply heat. It’s 420 Watt PSU. I think the casing design & materials  is much better than my current POWER casing, it has tought acrylic. I got one 12″ inch fan with blue lamp for the casing and the most important thing, it has apple white color

It’s really hard to find white casing color, maybe this the only available white casing color left. That’s the only reason why I bought the casing , so it can match with my new LCD monitor .

Onetrack MSI Wind OS x86 - Video Performance

Onetrack has made awesome video about MSI Wind running Stella Leopard 10.5.4 Customize Disto. The video show us how the Leopard running is, base on the video I know that expose and space running without problem. The wallsaver widget and the video player also running well, it means QE/CI for the onboard graphic working perfectly.

Onetrack also suggest us to update the webcam firmware first before we install the distro. Unfortunately , the video didn’t show us about how the webcam work is. Perhaps, sleep working on the wind too, because the video has showed me. Beside the webcam, there are just two hardware left that still “need to hack” to working with OS x86. The mic and output jack didn’t work (but the internal speaker work) and the wifi card. Wow, perhaps this is the best subnotebook that almost clone the Apple notebook perfectly ( just don’t compare it for the apple notebook performance ).

Leopard 10.5.4 Distro for The Wind

If you already have an MSI Wind and “dare” to install OS x86 on it, Stellarola has made awesome customize Leopard 10.5.4 distro to fit the Wind. If you have bandwith and want to download the distro, you can search the file in TPB by typing this keyword : MSI Wind / Medion. The iso file size around 3.46GB, once your download finish, just burn it to your DVD and the installer is very straight forward for the Wind. Let’s try your hack and inform me if your Leopard running well on the wind, because I still don’t have the Wind yet .

Ben-Q FP 93VW Apple White Color

I already three times walked around Mangga Dua Mall, but only three stores displaying this monitor (that’s include Ben-Q dealer) … Then I walk in front of the computer stores on the 4th floor (Abacus computer), suddenly their SPG ask me, “What are you looking for? May I help you?. I answered it in angry tone “Notice the model, Ben-Q FP93VW LCD monitor” Then she asked me to wait for a moment during she made a phone call to ask the monitor price. Guess what? My Ubuntu has arrived

My Ubuntu Request CD already arrived around one and half months ago, but UI still don’t know where to install the CD. My home computer HDD space is only less than 20 GB left. I want to try using GNU/Linux as my regular OS to learn about GNU/Linux. If I have new machine, I will using the machine as dedicated GNU/Linux box :P. Please GOd help me to make it.
